Do You Like Frogs?
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009
Once, many years ago, while visiting a pet shop an amphibians enthusiasts excitedly approached me and asked “do you like frogs?”. No, I really don’t. But while collecting the broken tree limbs and debrie from Sunday’s wind storm, my niece was startled by sudden movement. She had come upon a wood frog. Reddish brown with a dark mask and light line on the upper jaw. It was perfectly camouflaged with the orange and reds of the fallen leaves. If you looked away from it, it was hard to find again in the foliage. It looked like it was impersonating a chameleon! We decided it would be best to leave that area of the yard undisturbed for the safety of the little guy. Here are some pictures we took of the Cam-o-frog!
No frogs were harmed in the making of these photo’s.
