Not a Chicken Story

Today was a beautiful, blue skied, sunny day. The temperature was perfect for working out doors, so I worked in the garden. Fall clean up means cutting back plants that have gone by. Digging up and dividing plants that have grown so big over the years. Standing back and accessing what needs, or what you want, to move about. But, like I said, it was a perfect day for it.
I was very attuned to the glorious day. I was happy and noticed everything, the many birds in my yard and the many different sounds. Birds singing, lawn mowers off in the distance, dogs barking from afar and the water flowing in my fountain. Then, suddenly, a little baby creature crying. My neighbors cat had a baby bunny, not yet dead, but doomed. My husband tried to rescue it but we knew we could not save it. My glorious day was ruined by the death of an innocent baby rabbit. I know it is nature, which I was just relishing, I just don’t want to witness it.
